A valve adapter is a small fitting that connects an electric pump's hose to a board's inflation valve, bridging the gap between two different thread or diameter standards so air transfers without leaking.

Most inflatable SUPs use a Halkey-Roberts (HR) valve — a bayonet-style twist-lock valve that holds high pressure and seals automatically when the adapter is removed. Because pump hoses and board valves aren't built to a single universal standard, a valve adapter acts as the translator between them. The Tuomico HR valve adapter, for example, fits a 0.55" inner-threaded hose connection on one end and a 0.8" Halkey-Roberts valve on the other, with three O-ring thicknesses (3mm, 5mm, 6mm) included to dial in an airtight seal across different hose and valve combinations.

  • Tuomico HR valve adapter hose-side diameter: 0.55" (inner-threaded connection).
  • Tuomico HR valve adapter valve-side diameter: 0.8" (fits standard Halkey-Roberts valves).
  • Included O-ring thicknesses: 3mm, 5mm, and 6mm for fine-tuning the airtight seal.
  • Halkey-Roberts valves are the standard used by iRocker, Red Paddle Co, GILI Sports, and most iSUP brands.
  • Tuomico's 9-adapter kit covers SUP HR valves, kayak valves, kite/wing inflation, and standard inflatables.
